Former Florentine Building Abatement/Demolition
Target provided ACM/ORM abatement and demolition/removal of an 8-story, 31,146 SF mixed-use residential and commercial building in a tight urban space located in downtown Florence, SC.
- Prepared work plans (demo plan, APP, AHAs, waste management plan) and provided site supervision, asbestos/ORM abatement, demolition, and site restoration.
- Operated contractor-owned excavator with shears and long stick to deconstruct the building; crushed concrete for reuse and recycling.
- Submitted permits to SC DHEC and EPA for ACM abatement of over 39,000 F of non-friable and friable material, lead in demolition, and PCB/mercury disposal; hired temporary SC DHEC-licensed abatement workers to complete project on schedule.
- Recycled 1,200 tons of concrete, 215 tons of scrap metal, and disposed of 940 tons of C&D waste.
- Obtained approvals from SC DOT for sidewalk/road closures during the project.
- Self-performed 78% of the total cost.
