Asset Recovery Services

Your facility may be holding more value than it looks like. We inventory it, plan how it comes out, and recover, move, and sell what has value, as part of the demolition and environmental plan. Asset recovery and salvage, machinery and equipment removal, dismantlement, and our Heavy Haul division work together and are planned with the rest of the job.

Scope

Value recovered from the facility, as part of the demolition plan.

Equipment, metals, and reusable materials in an industrial facility often carry real value. Target Contractors inventories what is there, plans how it comes out, and recovers, processes, and sells it as part of the project, which can offset the cost of the work.

Our Heavy Haul division moves heavy equipment and industrial assets, so recovery, transport, and demolition run under one plan and one point of accountability.

Core services

  • Asset recovery and salvage. Inventory, removal, and disposition of equipment, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and reusable construction materials.
  • Machinery and equipment removal. Process lines, tanks, and plant equipment removed in a sequence planned around live operations and shutdown windows.
  • Dismantlement. Equipment and process-system dismantling ahead of structural demolition.
  • Recycling and scrap management. Cutting, sorting, and processing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and other materials for recycling and sale.
  • Heavy haul transport. Heavy equipment transport, industrial asset movement, mobilization and demobilization, and equipment and material logistics.

Asset recoveryScrap and salvage are part of the demolition plan, so the value comes back to the owner.

In detail

Each service adapts to the facility and the project.

Cable runs and electrical equipment inside an industrial structure

Asset recovery and salvage

We start with an inventory of what can be recovered, then remove it in an order that keeps equipment and materials in sellable condition.

Machinery and equipment removal

Plant equipment comes out on a schedule built around your operations and shutdown windows, and we review that schedule with you before we mobilize.

Dismantlement

Process systems are taken apart first, so the structure is clear when the demolition crews arrive.

Loading scrap for recycling

Recycling and scrap management

Ferrous and non-ferrous metals are cut, sorted, and sent for recycling. What they bring back can help offset the cost of the project.

Heavy haul transport

Our Heavy Haul division moves the equipment, handles mobilization and demobilization, and coordinates the logistics for materials.

How we plan

Recovery is decided during planning, not after demolition.

  • Inventory first. We walk the facility with the owner to identify what can be recovered and what it is likely worth.
  • Recovery built into the sequence. Dismantlement and removal are scheduled so valuable material comes out clean and safely.
  • Safe dismantling. Cutting, rigging, and lifting plans are written for the equipment, and utilities and process systems are isolated first.
  • Documented disposition. Material is tracked from removal to its final destination.

Recycling and diversion

Recycling & Scrap Management

Keeping material out of landfills is part of the plan from the first walk-through. We recycle concrete and steel on nearly every project, and across our work we divert more than 85% of material from landfills. At MCAS Cherry Point, more than 70% of the debris was recycled.

Materials we recycle include ferrous and non-ferrous metals, concrete, asphalt, brick, wood, equipment, and others. Concrete is crushed on site where possible, which also cuts hauling and disposal.

Recovery works best when it is part of the first plan. If you are considering a closure, consolidation, or sale, talk to us early so recoverable assets are accounted for from the start.

Examples of our work

Asset recovery in practice

At a former petroleum terminal in Wilmington, North Carolina, storage tanks and equipment were removed with salvage value maximized. At a former OSB manufacturing facility in Duck Hill, Mississippi, asset recovery was part of the scope alongside structural demolition and site restoration.
