Support
How the internship works
This is a paid, temporary summer assignment. Pay, dates, and assignment location are confirmed in a written offer.
Positions open as our projects and departments need them, so not every area is filled each summer. Applying does not guarantee an interview, a placement, or later employment.
A mentor guides you
A primary mentor sets your goals, checks in with you every week, and reviews your progress at the midpoint and at the end.
A supervisor each workday
A named supervisor gives you each day’s assignments and makes sure you know where you may work.
Safety comes first
You complete required orientation before you start. You never operate equipment or enter restricted areas without authorization and training.
Real work, reviewed
You contribute to real tasks. A supervisor checks your work before it goes anywhere else, and you keep approved examples that are safe to share.
